Christen’s 30th Birthday Party with a view at Sunset Coffee Building!

For starters, we planned a super fun Houston birthday party, overlooking the breathtaking Buffalo Bayou but let’s say Houston actually had other plans. The initial idea was to have a rooftop celebration but as the weather took a turn for the worse, so we had to move everything indoors. As an experienced and certified event planner, of course, I could immediately troubleshoot, be flexible and go for a plan B. I got to curate an industrial loft-style celebration instead, which honestly turned out even more amazing than imagined!

When planning an event, my go-to for being prepared for anything is exploring all the options and having a fantastic venue to work with. Christen’s 30th birthday party was hosted at the Sunset Coffee Building which is a historic space situated in Houston’s downtown. The place has a special feel in terms of interior and aesthetic as it was originally built in the 1910s (renovated in 2016). Its authenticity perfectly complimented Christen’s character and vibe!

What made everything even more unique and truly pop was the lavender and sunflowers theme. The colors contrasted the industrial style in the most beautiful way. Loved tailoring a backdrop with a large 30 and the balloon artistry of Luxury Loons. To match the theme, Essential Blooms adorned everything with gorgeous florals, infusing freshness into the styling. We also incorporated sunflowers around and on top of the stunning cake which was wonderfully displayed with cupcakes.

Speaking of food, it was beyond yummy and delicious! Pierre Exquisite Cuisine did the catering which included the fan favorites sliders and mac and cheese. But it wouldn’t be a perfect 30th birthday party without drinks! So to elevate the feel, Christen had signature drinks made by The Wright Experience, matched with lovely yellow shot glasses.

In the end, what tied everything ideally was the music. We had a great DJ – DJ Dynamo; who played popular hits and some throwback hits. Chelsea Jackson photographed the whole Houston birthday party experience, eternalizing this iconic milestone of Christen’s life, shared with her favorite people!
